Hey It's Hay
One of the greatest innovations to farming in my eyes was the advent of round bales. Built to be picked up by hay forks installed to a tractor or pick up, they drastically cut out a lot of manual labor.
I hated loading square bales with a passion in my youth. Eventhough it was a way to make a quick buck, it was definantly not easy money. You sweated your balls off bucking up hay in the summer just to freeze your ass off in the winter putting it out for the cattle. Now it can be done from the comfort of an air conditioned or heated cab. Now that is progress worth having.
